Canadian Firearms Safety Course
Non-Restricted CFSC (PAL)
Federally certified course (CFSC; PAL) open to individuals 12 and older who wish to purchase, own, and use non-restricted firearms (rifles and shotguns). Course involves one day of instruction, and students must pass a written and practical examination. The manual is free online, and it is suggested that students review the manual prior to class.
CFSC+ (Canadian Firearms Safety Course Plus)
The CFSC+ course is a two-day, small group version of the standard Canadian Firearms Safety Course, and it gets you your PAL just the same. Class size is limited to eight students, giving you a slower pace, more individual instruction, and extra hands-on time with firearms.
It is a great choice for those who are new to shooting, a bit nervous around firearms, or who simply want more time to build confidence and skill before testing. You will cover all the same material as the regular CFSC, but with added discussion, and more guided practice, as well as enhanced one-on-one coaching. If you have ever wished for a course that focuses on comfort, confidence, and careful learning, this one is for you.
Restricted CFSC (PAL)
Federally certified course (CFSC-R; RPAL) open to individuals 18 years of age or older who wish to purchase, own, and use restricted firearms (handguns). Course involves one day of instruction, and students must pass a written and practical examination. The manual is free online, and it is suggested that students review the manual prior to class.
